Spanish football mourns the death of Lorenzo Sanz, former president of Real Madrid who will be remembered for the great signings that allowed him to build a team of stars who reached the top of world football. That is why the signs of affection towards his family have happened from all areas of football.
Real Madrid issued a statement in which it regrets “with enormous dismay” the death of the former president “with which the much-awaited seventh European Cup in Amsterdam was won 32 years later in 1998.”
The captain of the white team, Sergio Ramos, also used his social networks to dedicate a message to him, in which he admitted that “it is a very sad day for Real Madrid” because Sanz “connected yesterday and today with two numbers for history : 7 and 8 “.
In addition, he stressed that “his death saddens even more these difficult days in which we find ourselves” and sent “my deep condolences to family and friends.”

However, condolences also came from other clubs, such as FC Barcelona or Valencia, two of Real Madrid’s great rivals at the time when Lorenzo Sanz presided over the Chamartín club. Others such as Leganes joined these clubs.
Nor were there any signs of affection from the organizations that govern national football, since both LaLiga and the RFEF said goodbye to Sanz with separate statements.
Lorenzo Sanz was a very dear man among the members of the press, as was demonstrated by the wave of messages of affection that were dedicated to him from communication professionals.
