Emili Rousaud premiered in 2020 with a promotion to be the right hand man of the top manager of FC Barcelona. On January 2 he went from being a vocal to becoming institutional vice president of the Catalan entity, with which it positioned itself as continuity candidate of the Josep Maria Bartomeu directive with a view to the summer elections of 2021.
The institutional vice-presidency has been vacant on the Barça board of directors since it resigned on October 1, 2017 Carles Vilarrubí, one of the seven that have fallen under the mandate of the increasingly questioned Bartomeu.
Rousaud was to be Bartomeu’s ‘dolphin’, after Jordi Cardoner announced that he was not going to appear. However, in just a few months, it has gone from being the great hope of the current Board of Directors to leading a rebellion that can carry the president himself.
Rousaud was member of the board since July 2015 and Since then he has carried out tasks in the social area, specifically as a manager responsible for the Office of Specialized Attention, a department that oversees accessibility, inclusion and mobility policies in the Club.
Rousaud is Bachelor of Business Studies and MBA from ESADE, graduated in Business Administration and Management from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia and Master in Tax Consulting and Management (AGT) from ESADE. At the professional level, it is founder and CEO of Factor Energía, SA, the first electricity trading company born in the liberalized market, and combines the management of Factorenergia with the vice-presidency of the Catalan employers’ association PIMEC.
He is also a member of the Plenary of the Chamber of Commerce of Barcelona and is part of the Market Agents Committee of the Spanish Electricity Market. He is also vice-president of the Catalan association Grup de Gestors Energètics (GGE). Rousaud is associate professor at Pompeu Fabra University in subjects related to the marketing area at the Faculty of Journalism and Audiovisual Communication.
