Sergio Ramos, captain of Real Madrid, acknowledged that football can be “secondary” in this “hard time” that is being experienced by the coronavirus pandemic, but assured that it is “an economic engine and serves as a distraction to the people who are passing it evil”.

Ramos said he has had to “live a very rare situation” due to the coronavirus pandemic that Spain has suffered, but admitted that he feels “lucky” to be in good health. “The important thing is not that football returns, it is that together we end the virus,” he said.

The Real Madrid captain was in favor of “try the turn” of football in the coming weeks.

“I have always said that I am excited and I can’t wait to return to compete. We want the League to end, to play the Champions League again and that life is normal, but we have to be disciplined, cautious and that depends on following the rules of the Government and LaLiga, “he acknowledged during an interview on the El Partidazo #VolverEsGanar program, from Movistar.

“Soccer is secondary because health is the priority, but I am looking forward to going back,” said Ramos, who also acknowledged that “soccer, in addition to being an economic engine, serves as a distraction for people who have a hard time.”

As for the possibility of ending the season at Valdebebas and not at the Bernabéu, Ramos did not close the door. “I vote for the safest. If the theme of the works can also be increased … But, On a personal level I prefer to play at the Bernabéu. We must respect decisions. Things that we have never experienced must be normalized. We are going to try to play normally and take advantage of the fact that if football serves as a distraction it will be good for us, “said the Sevillian.
