Several people were arrested on June 24 in Bangladesh, the day that Leo Messi was 33 years old, precisely for get together to celebrate birthday of the player. This group of individuals gathered bypassing government regulations to prevent coronavirus infections and until authorities intervened.
According to local officials, they were indeed celebrating the Argentinean birthday without taking into account social distancing measures. For this very reason, Judge Feroz Hossain has ordered a fine of 100 taka (1.04 euros) for the 15 people who gathered at a restaurant in Chadanga.
“We found them sitting inside the restaurant, waiting for Messi’s birthday celebration.“explained Hossain, who has a team of soldiers at his disposal to ensure that the indicated sanitary measures are followed to prevent the spread of the virus.
Also, the restaurant owner was fined 6,000 taka (63 euros) for staying open after dark, something the law in Bangladesh does not allow to stop the spread of the virus. The Asian country has registered 126,606 infected people and 1,621 recorded deaths.
